Ways to Organize Your Garage

Lots of times, people have garages – but can’t fit the car inside. Since a garage is supposed to protect your investment from Classic Chevrolet, you should find ways to organize the garage so your Chevy vehicle will fit inside. Once you have everything organized and on shelves, you should be able to fit all of your stuff and your Chevy inside.

Shelving

Line one of the side walls with shelves. If you have a two-car garage and just one car, you can line both sides. Make the shelves floor to ceiling – you can build them yourself or get some of the metal shelving units from a home improvement store. If you make your own shelves, you can put the shelves at different heights to better manage wasted space.

Use tubs with covers to store smaller items of all one kind. Purchase the size you need – don’t buy all big tubs, as that is just more wasted space. Most tubs stack on top of each other, too, so you can organize your things easier. You may want to use one tub for home extension cords and another for shop/heavy duty extension cords. You can also separate your holiday decorations in separate tubs to make them easier to find.

Tools

Built a tool bench or get a tool box for the front of your garage. Tool boxes are usually narrow in depth so you should still have plenty of room for your Chevy. On the same wall, hang pegboard so that you can hang tools and garden implements to keep them out of the way.

Rafters

If your garage has rafters or has a crawl space, use that for longer items such as extra PVC, poles and other things you don’t need immediate access to. You can also screw hooks into the ceiling – be sure you hit a rafter if they are not visible – to hang things like hoses and other hard-to-manage things that you don’t use on a daily basis.

Visit Classic Chevrolet

Be sure to stop by Classic Chevy to have your vehicle serviced or to pick up that new Chevy you’ve been eying – especially once you go through the work to organize your garage. What better way to use that roomy garage space than with a new Chevy?
