The Most Popular New Year’s Resolutions of 2016

Gyms become more crowded, Amazon sells more books and people start stuffing a few extra dollars into their piggy banks. A new year means a fresh start, and that’s why many Americans choose to make resolutions for the New Year. Some resolutions have proven to be more popular than others over the years, and these 10 are some that you’re guaranteed to hear your friends choosing in 2016.

1. Read more books.

1

As smartphones and tablets begin to take the place of books, many Americans are hoping to revert back to the basics. The resolution to read more books is one that continues to be in the top 10 year after year.

2. Lose weight.

2

Gyms overflow in January every year, but losing weight can be a tough resolution to keep. However, there’s no doubt that losing weight is on just about every list of the hottest New Year’s resolutions.

3. Quit smoking.

3

The more studies come out about how bad smoking is for everyone’s health, the more people are trying to quit. Quitting smoking can be difficult, but it’s a resolution that many smokers will try year after year until their goal is accomplished.

4. Save money.

4

Saving money is on a lot of people’s minds after the holiday spending has ceased. Paying off debts and saving more money is a resolution that many choose in the New Year, but it also means a commitment to a change of lifestyle.

5. Eat healthier.

5

Eating healthy is difficult for many busy Americans, but the vow to eat more fruits and vegetables or change junk food eating habits entirely is seen as a positive way to start the New Year.

6. Live with less stress.

6

Stress is something that drags many people down everyday, and removing that stress can mean a happier and more productive lifestyle. However, relieving stress can be one of the most difficult resolutions to keep.

7. Travel more often.

7

Traveling is a way of incorporating more relaxation, adventure and culture into your life, and it’s hard to see a downside of escaping work and everyday stresses more often. Although, it’s important to keep in mind that traveling more often means keeping better track of your budget too.

8. Give to more charities.

8

Whether it’s time, money, clothing or other means of donating, many people vow to help others more in the new year.

9. Spend less time on Facebook.

9

This relatively new resolution has gained popularity as Facebook has become accessible everywhere we go. Spending less time on Facebook could result in higher levels of productivity, especially when you’re tempted by social media at work.

10. Try an extreme sport.

10

For many, a new year means new adventures, and bigger and better adventures can mean a more amazing year than the last. Bungee jumping, skydiving and other adventure sports require courage from the participant, but these activities are found rewarding to those who have a little bit of adrenaline junkie inside.

Make 2016 the best year yet with a new or used Chevy from Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas.

Chevy Plays Cupid

http://images.cobaltgroup.com/chrome_jpgs/2014/17008x400.jpg

In 2013, Lambracht Chevrolet had an auction and that auction included 50 “ancient” cars. Many of them are the same models that might have been sold at one time at Classic Chevy.

One buyer bought a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air and towed it 800 miles to his home in Indiana where he started restoring it. The ’59 had been sitting in a field in Nebraska and was very rusty. The seats were torn and it needed a ton of work.

Inside, among the rust and torn seats, he found a love letter dated Feb. 7, 1965. It was from a woman to a man – and the last line, along with the names of the couple, was still visible on the faded and mouse-eaten letter. The last line said, “Let’s get married.” The new owner of this very old car tracked down the son of the man mentioned in the letter. The new owner thought that the letter should be reunited with its rightful owners.

It turns out that the man in the letter worked at Lambrecht Chevrolet as a mechanic and the ’59 Bel Air was his personal vehicle. He and the woman who wrote the letter eloped and later had two children. The new owner found one of the children and turned the letter over to him.

When you buy a Chevy from Classic Chevrolet you never know who might find it later. You might even buy a used Chevy and find a treasure that someone missed over the years. Some of the popular older models include the Bel Air, Chevelle, Impala, Nova and Camaro. The newer models include the Impala, Camaro, Corvette, Traverse and more. Though you can only assume some of these cars will be around in 50 years, you can probably bet that the Impala and Camaro – or even the Corvette – will be around much later.

Stop by Classic Chevrolet to look at a new vehicle or to look at their used vehicles. You may just find yourself an old love story or missed treasure in an older vehicle.

Classic Clean Fuels Outlet Opens at Classic Chevy

Classic Chevy is the top-selling Chevrolet dealer in the nation, and this past Tuesday, April 1, we celebrated the grand opening of our natural gas fueling station, the first one to be owned by a dealership anywhere in the country.

image009

The new station, Classic Clean Fuels CNG, has an ANGI Energy compressor system and one two-hose dispenser. Zeit Energy built the new public access station. The ANGI energy compressor at the station is designed for light- to medium-duty vehicles.

As reported in Fleets and Fuels, “As more and more Americans realize that freedom from dependence on foreign oil is a national priority, the viability of American produced natural gas has become forefront.” Furthermore, natural gas produced in America is not subject to the fluctuating oil and gas prices, world politics and OPEC.

You can expect to see the 2015 bi-fuel Chevrolet Impala sometime this summer. Currently, we promote the Silverado 2500 and 3500HD bi-fuel pickup trucks. We also have three-quarter-ton CNG vans. The pickup trucks have a range of over 650 miles.

image014

According to Ken Thompson, founder of the Thompson Group, the Group has been committed to finding ways to help their business customers since 1978. He stated that one of the benefits of opening a bi-fuel station is that it allows its customers to be more competitive. Many of the Group’s customers are already planning to convert their fleets to vehicles that use natural gas throughout the next year. Not only will using natural gas give of fewer emissions, but it saves the businesses money.

Classic Chevrolet already uses six bi-fuel Silverado models to deliver parts in three states. Fourteen other CNG fuel outlets exist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but this newest is the first dealership-owned station. Classic Clean Fuels also provides ethanol, biodiesel, and regular unleaded gasoline. Plans are underway to add a charging station for electric vehicles.

The new station is located next to the Thompson Group Commercial & Fleet building, just north of the Stone Myers Parkway exist on Highway 121.
