Meet the All-New Impala

The new 2015 Chevrolet Impala models, which will be available at Classic Chevrolet sometime this summer, have many small changes to features. You can get the Impala with 18-inch or optional 19- or 20-inch tires. The change in tire size does change how the Impala rides, so pay attention to which tires and wheels are on the vehicle you test drive.

The base engine is Chevrolet’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and models with this gain a stop-start feature that was standard on the 2014 model years. This features increases city fuel economy by 1 mpg*. With this technology, the base model with the 2.5-liter engine gets 22 mpg* in the city and 31 mpg* on the highway. The V-6 version uses a 3.6-liter engine.

The Impala also gets 4G LTE as standard equipment. Another change is the ability to fill up with compressed natural gas (CNG). You’ll have to buy the trim level that offers this or add it as an option, but if you live in an area where CNG is widely available, it is cheaper than gas in most cases.

While the mileage figures have not been released, Auto Trader quoted Chevrolet of saying that the Impala is expected to go about 150 miles on an 8-gallon tank of CNG. The tank is mounted in the trunk, so that does cut out about half of the cargo space.

The dual-fuel version also uses the 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which is backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. Pricing has not been announced as of yet for the dual-fuel version. According to Chevrolet, buyers who drive 24,000 miles per year will recoup the price difference in savings within a few years.

Additional features for the 2015 Impala my include – depending on the trim level and option packages – back up camera, a stereo system, LCD display, a variety of seating materials, panic and security alarms, remote keyless entry, variably intermittent wipers, disc brakes, ABS brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, plenty of air bags, turn signals in the mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with mounted audio and cruise controls and much more.

Stop by Classic Chevy or keep your eye on this space for more information about the 2015 Impala as it becomes available.
