The South by Southwest (SXSW) Festivals are held in Austin and are the places to meet with others in the industry to exchange ideas. The music festival is for creative people and companies. This year is Chevrolet’s fifth year as a Super Sponsor for the festivals. If you are considering purchasing a Chevy at Classic Chevrolet with 4G LTE technology, you’ll be able to experience the technology at the festival. The festival will be held from March 7 through March 16.

The SXSW will feature advanced technologies, speakers and music showcases. The 4G LTE technology will be available in Chevrolet vehicles this summer. The technology will be available to demo until March 12, 2014.

Since the SXSW festival is all about technology, Chevrolet will fit right in. The company is looking forward to participating in conversations that help it choose what technology to add to its vehicles in future years, according to Paul Edwards, the U.S. vice president at Chevrolet Marketing.

General Motors and Chevrolet will be fueling conversations centered around new technologies including social media listening, in-vehicle technology and augmented reality. On March 9, 2014, Mary Henige, the director of Social Media and Digital Communications for GM held mentor sessions on “Making and Keeping Friends.”

On March 10, Andrew Dinsdale, the lead for the Digital, Social and CRM for Chevrolet; and Rebecca Harris, for Social Media Center of Excellence at GM held conversations centered around “Know Your Customers – from Stalker to Soulmate.” And on March 11, Steve Schwinke, the director of Application Development, Global Connected Consumer at GM held a panel centered on “DIY Everything with In-Car Augmented Reality.”

As participants move from panel to panel, they can break at the Find New Roads Lounge in the Austin Convention Center to recharge electronics and get a bite to eat.

Furthermore, a festival favorite will be back: Catch a Chevy. Chevrolet is offering rides from March 12 through 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. so that participants can easily navigate Austin’s busy streets and so they can get a ride from place to place at a comfortable temperature.

The Chevrolet vehicles are Impalas and Volts and they will be wrapped with Chevy logos and information. While the passengers are riding, they can test audio streaming and voice-to-text technologies via Chevrolet MyLink.

The Drive-A-Chevy Program will also be at the festival: Attendees can drive the Cruze Diesel, Spark EV and the 2015 Tahoe. This program will be available March 12 through 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Stop by the festival or Classic Chevy for more information about Chevrolet’s involvement in the festival. While you’re at the dealership, you can get more information about the new lineup and test drive your next new vehicle.
