The Chevy Volt helped to solidify Chevy’s position in the extended-range electric vehicle segment and now it’s getting some updates, new features, and other changes for the 2018 model year in the U.S. market.

While superficial, the Chevy Volt will be losing four exterior color options, but will gain three new ones. The dropped colors are:

  • Siren Red Tintcoat exterior color
  • Citron Green Metallic exterior color
  • Heather Gray Metallic exterior color
  • Pepperdust Metallic exterior color

The new colors include:

  • Green Mist Metallic exterior color
  • Satin Steel Metallic exterior color
  • Cajun Red Tintcoat exterior color

The 2018 Chevy Volt is also receiving additional features, like rear park assist as part of the new optional Driver Confidence Package. This package also includes rear cross-traffic alert and side blind zone alert. This optional package will only be available on the LT trim level; the Premier trim gets automatic park assist as standard equipment.

In what may be a bid to save on cost, the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob are now vinyl on the LT trim, though you can still get leather through the optional Comfort Package. Other new changes include an optional new heated steering wheel, which now automatically turns on when the heated seats are activated.
