Camaro Outsells the Competition

There’s that rivalry again… Chevy vs. Ford. And right now, the Chevrolet Camaro, now available at Classic Chevy, is winning. From January 2014 through the end of May 2014, Chevrolet sold 38,951 Camaro models while Ford sold 36,600 Mustangs, according to AutoData. Each month’s tally for both vehicles showed that the Camaro was ahead by the same margin each month.

The 2014 Camaro convertible SS with 2SS features a 6.2-liter V-8 engine backed by a six-speed manual transmission. The rear features a 3.45 axle ratio and limited slip differential. This combination makes 426 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque at 4,600 rpm. To help stop the vehicle, the Camaro features four-wheel ABS disc brakes and Brembo performance four-piston calipers in the front and rear.

Safety features include StabiliTrak stability control system, traction control, several airbags, daytime running lamps, OnStar, Ultrasonic rear parking assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system. OnStar comes with six months of Directions and Connections, which includes automatic crash response, roadside assistance, stolen vehicle assistance and navigation.

Convenience features include front leather sport bucket seats that feature adjustable head restraints, six-way power and heat for the front seats, a floor console, center armrest, tilt and telescopic steering column with a leather-wrapped, three-spoke steering wheel, a head-up display with color digital readouts, driver information center, power programmable door locks with lockout protection, cruise control with steering wheel-mounted controls and remote keyless entry.

Additional features include a three-channel programmable universal home remote, the PASS-Key III theft deterrent system, rear window defogger, an air filtration system with a pollen filter, cup holders, map pockets, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

Exterior features include 20-inch painted aluminum wheels, a spare tire and wheel, a tonneau cover, folding rear glass with an integral defogger, a hood blanket, rear spoiler, halogen headlights, power-adjustable heated door mirrors – the driver’s door mirror is auto-dimming, and body-colored mirrors and door handles.

Entertainment features include an eight-speaker Bose system, SiriusXM satellite radio, Chevrolet MyLink and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.
